Thank you to everybody who had donated, despite the weather. However, if you were unable to donate at the time or now have donations, please contact Hands On Hartford at (860) 728-3201 to find out how to donate or contact the food pantry of your choosing.
Scouting For Food is an annual service project organized by the Boy Scouts of America to collect and distribute food to those who are less fortunate. Troop 156 joins forces with Hartford Food Pantry to ensure that no one in our community goes hungry.
Collection: The Scouts will distribute bags to homes in our community, along with some suggestions and a date for pickup.
Pickup: On Sunday, December 14th, between 9 and 11am, scouts will return to collect the filled bags of non-perishable food items.
Donation: All collected food will be sorted by scouts and families and picked up by Hartford Food Pantry to be distributed to those in need.
Donate: Fill the provided bags with non-perishable food items such as canned goods, pasta, rice, and cereal. The food pantry cannot accept expired food or anything in glass jars. Then, on the morning of Sunday, December 14th, put them out at your mailbox (where you first received the bags).
Spread the Word: Tell your friends, family, and neighbors about the Scouting for Food initiative and encourage them to participate. If they are not on a pickup street, they can bring donations to JB William's Park Pavilion on Sunday, Dec 14 before noon.
Food insecurity affects many families in our community. Your donations can make a significant impact, providing meals for those who might otherwise go without. By participating in Scouting for Food, you are helping to build a stronger, more caring community.
Every can, box, and bag of food collected brings us one step closer to ending hunger in our community.
Thank you for your support and generosity. Together, we can create a brighter future for everyone.
